Backgammon

Types of Backgammon - Gul Bara

The biggest difference between Gul Bara and the other variants of backgammon is that there is no hitting in Gul Bara. The dice indicates how many points, or pips, the players can move their checkers. The checkers can be moved only to an open point, which is not occupied by the opponent’s checker. Players can use the numbers on the two dices both for separate moves or they can add them together for a single move. If the player who win bears off all his checkers before the loser has borne off any he will get two points.
