ROULETTE - Introduction

Roulette is a casino gambling game, which was first played in France in 17th century. It is very easy to be understood and played in the casino, but as usual the easier a game is to understand the greater the house edge. Roulette is one of the most popular European gambling games and Monte Carlo, Monaco is a well known and famous casino center for playing roulette. There are six to eight sets of different colored chips, each set consisting of 300 chips and a Roulette wheel, which has 37 or 38 separately numbered pockets in which a ball must land, on the Roulette table.

ROULETTE - The Basics

Roulette players can be up to eight and they play against the house, represented by the croupier also called the dealer. The croupier spins the roulette wheel and handles the wagers and payouts. When players buy- in, they get different colored chips so their bets don't get mixed up. At the end of the game the winner exchanges back the colored chips with cash chips. These chips have the value amount imprinted on them, as there are several denominations in various colors. When the winner brings these cash chips to the cash desk, they give him actual cash money in exchange. Before the game of Roulette starts, each player places his bet or bets on numbers in the table layout or on the outside, then the croupier starts the spin and launches the ball. Before the ball is about to drop over the slots, the croupier says 'no more bets' and no one is allowed to place - or change - their bets until the ball drops on a slot. Placing new bets is allowed after the croupier places the dolly on the winning number on the roulette table, clears all the losing bets and pays the winners. Roulette winners are the players which bets are on or around the number that comes up.

ROULETTE - The payouts
